Adobe introduced the new generative AI tools at the Adobe Max 2024 conference. The company focuses on AI tools to enhance the user’s experience of creating and designing advanced levels of images and videos.
However, this event may disappoint many traditional Adobe designers. Adobe too much focuses on the launch of the Adobe AI model, Firefly which bored attendees. Someone wrote that it was the AI conference, not a design conference anymore.
Additionally, a designer who attended Adobe Max 2024 wrote this, as reported by Creative Bloq.
“Every keynote, every breakout session, every lab, every opportunity they get, someone pushes Firefly and some new AI capabilities. It is overwhelming to the point where I think it’s a red flag how much they are talking about it.”
He added, “I understand they need to do damage control because of the bad Press that AI has, but this is too much, man. This is an expensive conference to be at, I want to learn something while I’m here and all they can talk about is AI.”
In recent years, AI is become the hype to attract investors and users to increase the price of stocks. Adobe also wants to show its flashy features to users and is committed to upgrading constantly every year.
Some designers argue that the latest features are not usable for 99.9% of designers. Their capabilities end up showing results that look like AI generative images. It is a gigantic waste of time and money to stick with Adobe for longer.
It is suggested that Adobe listens to its traditional pro users or designers about what they want from it. Hence, all features related to AI models are not always worthwhile.
