Elon Musk is apparently not that impressed with OpenAI’s latest offerings into the AI space. OpenAI recently had an event where they revealed a new AI model, the GPT-4o. And Musk’s reaction to this release was not that good.
In a comment he had this to say about GPT-4o, “it made me cringe”. OpenAI debuted the new model this Monday, showcasing how it is an improvement to all its present models as well as its improved voice and vision capabilities.
The AI model functions pretty much like any digital assistant and allows users to communicate with the bot both by oral and visual interactions. This new bot quickly became a hot topic due to how it sounds more like a digital girlfriend which is pretty similar to the 2013 movie “Her.”
Musk left comments on several X posts mocking the new update, including some that suggested OpenAI had turned ChatGPT into an AI girlfriend. The billionaire has been at odds with OpenAI since he left the company and has been critical of any of its product releases since.
Musk had apparently also sued OpenAI stating that the company had abandoned its founding principles amid its multibillion-dollar partnership with Microsoft.
