Flappy Bird is Making a Comeback After 10 Years

The viral mobile game Flappy Bird is finally ready for its second round of success, with its proposed release by the end of October 2024. First launched in 2013, the fun video game is returning after a 10-year-long wait when its creator took it offline.

According to various sources, it will be an expanded version, available on multiple platforms and web browsers. Later in 2025, users can also play it on an Android and iOS app. There will be new characters, massive multi-player challenges, and more to improve the gaming experience.

The biggest difference this time is the video game is re-released not from the original developer Dong Nguyen, but from the dedicated fan group called ‘The Flappy Bird Foundation’. They clarified in an official statement, that they acquired the official Flappy Bird trademark from Gametech Holdings LLC, a U.S. company.

When Flappy Bird was first introduced, its profit soared quickly, with over 50 million downloads. Its instant success was mentioned as a ‘sleeper hit’, with fans becoming addicted to the game, as the bird, Faby, attempted to fly through columns of green pipe.

Now, the new version is ready to top the charts again, with its creative director, Michael Roberts, hopeful of “delivering a fresh experience that will keep players engaged for years to come.” The wait is almost over and the fans are excited to meet Faby again!
