After making some Material 3 design changes, Google Photos on the web is now adding the “Documents” section, similar to what’s available on Android and iOS.
In the mobile app since November, you can now find “Documents” in the Library on the web. It sits with Favorites, Albums, Utilities, Archive, Locked Folder, and Trash.
The dropdown shows three top collections and a link to “View all documents.
“The “Documents” section contains “automatic albums” for categories such as Screenshots, Books & Magazines, Event information, Identity, Notes, Payment methods, Receipts, Recipes & Menus, and Social. You can set these to “Archive after 30 days.”
You can access this by searching “Documents” or directly at: photos.google.com/u/0/documents.
This update makes it easier for people to manage important document photos.
The Gemini-powered Ask Photos feature will soon allow you to access this information through conversations. Google Wallet will also let you save important documents as passes.
