Great news for Android lovers as Google is planning to release Android 16 much earlier than it is meant to be released. Even though the tech giant is still working on the complete release of Android 15, amid this announced news regarding a major release happening in Q2 of 2025. A minor update will also be followed by Google in Q4 of 2025.
Earlier, the tech giant gave a reasonable argument that an early release for the latest Android 16 would indefinitely allow the company to be fully ready at the time of major flagship launches.
For instance, Google launched the Pixel 9 series this year but with an older version of Android 14 which debuted on October 4, 2023. So, releasing Android 16 will allow the company plenty of time to fine-tune the update for flagship launches and even roll out a minor update with any necessary fixes.
Though the release is still far away in June, we already have a few specs on what Android 16 will bring. The update might be carried out with the codename- ‘Baklava’ which is expected to introduce a completely redesigned notification drawer and quick settings panel, aligning the brightness slider with the Android 15 volume picker layout.
Additionally, the Do Not Disturb mode also appeared to be more powerful with theft protection features that may directly be integrated into the settings. The Android 16 would also allow apps to be converted into a floating bubble for easier multitasking.
