On 10 October 2024, Rockstar Games launched the GTA Online Halloween event and a community challenge to collectively kill 80 million zombies to unlock special gifts which include the Orange Glow Skeleton Onesie and the Red Hooded Skull Mask.

Surprisingly, over 400,000 players logged in within a few days to participate in the challenge which resulted in Rockstar promoting a new 800 million zombies reported by Eurogamer points.

In addition, Rockstar Games announced that if the setting target is achieved, each participant will be rewarded with the Purple Glow and Green Glow Skeleton Onesies.

On 13 October 2024, Rockstar Games posted on X the great news that excited all payers.

“More than halfway there — over 430 million zombies now dispatched in the North Yankton Nightmare Community Challenge!”

The post describes that within a couple of days, more than half the goal is achieved, and GTA Online players have killed around 430 million zombies. It is proof that never try to underestimate the power of online communities.

“400,000 players have played the new Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode within 24 hours, marking a 270 percent increase over the player count for the Assault on ATT-16 mode during the same period,” explains Tez2, a twitterer who monitors engagement on Rockstar Games.

However, it is not easy to believe that GTA Online has feverish popularity among gamers or players even after 11 years of release. Along with this, a one-person also mockingly responded to Rockstar Games, “If we hit 1 billion, we get GTA 6 trailer 2… Okay?”
