intel launches battlemage gpu b580

Battlemage is here! Intel has officially unveiled by first two graphics cards using its new GPU architecture. The price of B580 is $250, however, users will find B570 cheaper as it will be available for users at $220. Both the models are built on the same BMG-G21 chip however, they differ in their configurations.

The B580 features 20 Xe2 cores and 12 GB of VRAM of 192-bit bus and 456 GB/s, whereas the B750 is equipped with 18 Xe2 cores and 10 GB of VRAM of 160-bit bus and 380 GB/s. Additionally, B570 operates at lower clock speeds and has a reduced thermal design power or TDP of 150W as compared to the 180W of B580. Both the cards draw power from a single 8-pin connector.

A more significant compassion may be drawn with the previous Arc A750, which was launched at the same price point of $250 as the Arc B580. however, the average performance demonstrated by B580 has increased by 24% over the older Intel model when tested at 1440p.

Intel’s internal testing shows that it surpasses the Nvidia RTx 4600 by a margin of 10% despite the fact that the Nvidia card is a bit expensive and features less VRAM which is 8 GB.

The new Xe2 graphics architecture has shown considerable promise with the BMG-21 chip hoisin 19.6 billion transistors, which is less than the 21.7 billion found in the ACM-G10 used for A750 resulting in a smaller chip with boosted performance.

Software is as crucial as hardware in today’s landscape promoted Intel to introduce XeSS 2, the updated version has super-resolution along with features like Low Latency and Frame Generations that serve as a response to Nvidia’s reflex technologies and frame generation. The users can access Intel Arc B580 from the 13th of December with limited variant dual fans whereas the cheaper B570 will be available from 1the 6thof  January next year.
