The CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, dramatically revealed the most advanced glasses the world has ever seen. The company’s “first consumer full holographic AR glasses,” though they won’t be arriving for any consumer’s faces anytime soon. Zuckerberg praised Orion’s low weight and its ability to be tracked with both hands and eyes. Also, glorified its most ambitious feature- a brain interface. He even mentioned a few well-known early testers who were quite impressed, including the CEO of Nvidia.
Meta launches the Quest 3S headset for $299. A less expensive alternative to the Quest 3, the entirely wireless headset is compatible with the existing library of Quest apps and games. “With Quest 3S on the shelf, we’re officially winding down sales of Quest 2 and Pro. We’ll be selling our remaining headsets through the end of the year or until they’re gone, whichever comes first,” told Meta.
Now you can have a natural conversational AI via the multimodal Llama 3.2. With this new voice feature, users can use spoken commands on all platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. A standout addition to this feature is the voice options to choose from, including the AI voices of celebrities like Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Awkwafina, Kristen Bell, and Keegan-Michael. Furthermore, Meta is testing an AI translation feature that can automatically dub and lip-sync video content into different languages.
Meta sunglasses get real-time AI video and reminders. The sunglasses will be getting a smartphone-like reminder feature; live language translation and full integration with music streaming apps like Amazon Music, Audible, and iHeart Radio. The highlight of the demonstration is the integration of real-time AI video processing, allowing users to query the Ray-Ban Meta glasses about their surroundings.
With these technological advancements, Meta is really taking a step beyond, and just like Zuckerberg’s t-shirt says “Act Zuck aut nihil,” which translates to “either Zuck or nothing.”
