The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra have recently been approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States, disclosing the connectivity features they will provide. Additionally, the FCC documentation indicates that all three models of the Galaxy S25 series will be equipped with Wi-fI 7.
It is expected that all the major devices of Galaxy for 2025 will support Wi-Fi 7 and this technology was first integrated into the smartphone range of Samsung with Galaxy S24 ultra earlier this year.
However, the company opted for Wi-Fi 6E in the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 FE because of the Exynos 2400/2400e chipset that has been used in these models which do not support Wi-Fi 7.
The only other Galaxy devices featuring Wi-Fi 7 connectivity this year are the Galaxy Z Fold Special edition and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. Despite using the same Snapdragon chip as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Galaxy Z fold 6 and Flip 6 do not support Wi-Fi 7, a decision that Samsung has not explained publically.
With the addition of Wi-Fi 7 in the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, it is reasonable to expect that this feature will become a standard across all flagship Galaxy smartphones in 2025. However, the FCC documents indicate the Ultra-wideband (UWB) support will be exclusive for S25+ and S25 Ultra suggesting some variation in connectivity capabilities.
As for the colour options, Analyst Ross Young has already indicated that the official colour names for the base model and the Plus model will be Moon Night Blue, Midnight Black, Sparkling Blue, Silver Shadow and Sprkling Green. Although Samsung has described these colours as glitter, they are more of pastel quality. The model Galaxy S25 Ultra might be available for users in colours like Titanium Blue, Titanium Black, Titanium Silver and Titanium Grey.
