White Out Survival is all about keeping your base and Troops alive as possible, requiring the absolute best knowledge about your Heroes. Each Hero has a unique play style with several Skills in their kit. Each Skill not only depict the Attack and base buffs they’ll get, but how well they do in certain scenarios when in battle. Here’s everything you need to know about every Hero type.

📜 How Many Hero Types Are There?

Hero Types

Similar to other games made by Century Games, there are three main categories for Heroes. These are the Infantry, Marksman, and Lancers. However, Heroes are also sorted by their weapons. A Hero can use the Lance, blunt weapons, and ranged weapons like the bow and arrow. These categories are much more broad though, especially when two Heroes of different types can use the same weapon. ⚔️ The Infantry Heroes

Infantry Heroes

Infantry Heroes are meant to handle the frontlines of combat. They have some of the highest defense possible which allows them to withstand heavier attacks. This also allows them to stall their enemies from hitting the rest of the army. The majority of Heroes in this category are Sword users, so they aren’t the heaviest hitting Heroes out of the bunch.

Since Infantry Heroes have a better Defense stat than the other categories, they can handle Lance attacks fairly well. Lance users are very powerful with their single-target damage. This makes them exceptionally dangerous against Marksman, but Infantry Heroes are their weakness. However, an Infantry Hero will fall short against a Marksman.

🗡️ Strong Infantry Hero Examples

Strong Infantry Hero

Jeronimo is the most balanced and well-rounded example of an Infantry Hero. He has the perfect combination of high defense and frontline attack power. Although he may seem like a simple choice considering his early-game presence, he actually lasts quite a while with enough investment. His Skills only further increase his power and allows for plenty of versatility on the field.

Another good example of an Infantry Hero is Gina. She’s by far one of the most free-to-play friendly characters in the game, but she’s nothing to scoff at. Her Skills are fairly simple to use and understand with one of them giving her short boosts in movement speed. She’s also one of the few ranged Infantry Heroes. This makes her incredibly beginner-friendly as you won’t have to worry as much about close-combat risks.

The Lancer Heroes

Lancer Heroes

While Infantry Heroes have the highest defense in the game, Lancers are for players needing a balanced trooper. They have a mid-range weapon that deal some decent damage all while having enough defense to keep them together. Although that may not sound like much, they are the direct counter to Marksman thanks to their added range.

But if the Lancers are only good against Marksman, then what’s the point of having them? Well, the whole point of Lancers is that they aren’t meant to stand on their own. Both the Marksman and Infantry Heroes have their weaknesses. That’s where the Lancers can fill in and balance both classes out while giving enemy Marksman a counter. In other words, Lancers are part of the strategic play.

Strong Lancer Hero Examples

While Lancers can seem insignificant at first, they can actually prove to be some massive damage dealers in the right hands. For example, Gordon is currently known as one of the best Lancers in the fanbase. Not only is his base damage incredibly great, but his Skills add on some extra Poison status effects too. Gordon is great for almost all modes and especially Bear Hunts.

Another great Lancer is Renee, though she has received a few nerfs as of late. She’s best known for her attack boosting buffs that she can inflict on herself. This makes Renee a great Rally Joiner similar to the Infantry Heroes. This way, she can kick off any raid or battle with a bang like it’s nothing. However, do keep in mind of a few stat decreases that affect her full potential.

The Marksman Heroes

Marksman Heroes

Marksman Heroes are the epitome of a glass cannon. They have the highest attack power at the base level while also having the greatest range. However, Marksman also have the lowest defense stat compared to everyone else. This makes the Marksman incredibly risky to control at times. They can easily be taken out by enemies if not careful, including by other Marksman!

Marksman are the absolute strongest against Infantry enemies. This makes them super important to have on your army considering how hard Infantry Heroes are to take down. They have the highest number of defense possible and can attack from a safe distance. However, make sure that your Marksman is always at a safe position with support at the ready.

While some Marksman are great with single-target attacks, others are suited for more than one mode. Gwen is the best example of a well-rounded Marksman. She works as a supportive attacker thanks to the buffs she gives to the whole army. Gwen increases her attack power while also gaining multiple Expedition buffs for extra resources.

Meanwhile, other Marksman put all their Skills into the battlefield. Reina is considered one of the best for PVP. She stands out for having multiple AOE attacks that give her effective crowd control on enemies. This increases her Rally strength overall, which is highly sought after in the meta.
