Every time I’m planning a workshop, I understand that picking the appropriate location is one of the most vital.
Venue booking is no longer an issue of just looking for a location to hold the event; it is also about bringing forth the correct information for learning, interaction, and fun.

These little things have a major impact on how comfortable all the participants will be throughout the section.
A good decision on the venue will go a long way in achieving the objective of the session in that the participants will develop knowledge and the session will be a good experience for them.

The first step in my preparation for a corporate workshop is to outline the objective of the workshop so as to ensure that everyone understands the main idea and goal.
These goals are shared beforehand and during the session.
In addition, instead of using jargon, I try to seek people’s opinions in order to ensure everyone has an understanding and that their opinions matter.
This way I let the participants have an idea of what to expect from the meeting which will keep them active in the workshop and also enable them to give useful input towards the success of the workshop.
In an attempt to prepare an interesting as well as complete corporate workshop agenda, I first allocate the key issues and their respective aims.
It is also pivotal for me to divide the session into segments with appropriate time locations.
This also means integrating activities and discussions to maintain the seriousness of the audience.
I emphasize the importance of content and how participants interact with that content.
Keeping to a reasonable degree of organization and variation, I try to prepare an agenda that is clear, concise, and consistent with the purpose of the meeting.
I also utilize tools and technology for the involvement of better interaction in my corporate workshops.
There are tools I use such as polls, whiteboards, etc., for these purposes and allow the people to be proactive and join in.
It is also pivotal to me that I am able to use basic technology that does not require much effort on the part of the audience as this can be distracting.
Because of these tools, I am able to facilitate an interactive session where people are able to put across their viewpoints, raise questions, and be active participants during the meeting.

Networking and open discussions can get messy if the atmosphere isn’t right at a corporate workshop which is why I try my best to make the one.
I have icebreakers at the beginning where I let the participants introduce themselves.
During those sessions only, I encourage them to speak out about their opinions and experiences without the fear of judgment.
Also, to make sure there’s involvement of everyone, I divide them into small groups that perform certain tasks.
This way, I think it builds connections and provides possibilities for exchanging ideas and development in a professional way for all.
